No more Smart Parts?
Looks like the buzz has increased in World Cup about Smart Parts beings in heavy financial difficulties. Among the industry it hasnt been a secret in a while but I’m sure there will be alot of updates to that story after World Cup.
Kasimir Hellman to San Diego!
A long-term project initiated by Mikko Huttunen at the 2008 PSP World Cup comes to a successful end on Aug.24th, when Kasimir takes off towards San Diego on a year-long student exchange program. Kasimir’s host family lives close to the DYE factory and the home field of the Ironmen, and he will certainly have great practise opportunities! The seashore is 30Km away, but we’re sure that Shorty will become quite familiar with the Longboard!
Helsinki Cyclone wishes Kasimir good luck and thanks Mikko for the effort!
Millennium Malaga Summary
In windy Malaga we only got to play two games before the tournament was cancelled and games transferred to be played in Germany. Helsinki Cyclone proved to have been on the right track during the winter season, as the players tolerated the heat and were able to play on normal performance levels.
Returning From Riga
Our Malaga Practise tourament was extremely useful, we got 19 points on the field with etremely good opponents, two SPL teams (Instinct and Sigur) and one CPL team (Chilli Peppers). We are satisfied with our games, even though we didn’t make the cut into the finals. A quick summary of the games:

We’ll be having a little pow-wow with our Latvian friends (4 teams will be there to meet us) this weekend. Possibly we’ll get around to shooting a paintball or two. Winter Training News
The expertise shows. Our PT held his first session today and boy was it good. He brought in so much new stuff that we were astonished. Not one of the things he included in the session was something that we had tried on our own, and the session was exceptionally diverse. It was also at a substantially higher pace, and we really felt like true athletes in training. Can’t wait to see where he will take us over the next couple of months. Can’t even wait till next Sunday!
Now We’ll Get into Shape
Helsinki Cyclone is delighted to report that we now have a personal trainer in house! Matti the Machine will now be killing us every Sunday in the Kisahalli athletic center. That said, we’ll certainly continue to do our own killing on Tuesday and Thursday as usual. Welcome to the gang, Matti!
