Video update from NuSkool

AlmostFamous paintball has posted up a mid-season clip of NuSkool Wrecking Crew, the team Kasimir has been practising with. The video itself is nothing earth-shattering, but it gives again a nice perspective to the different style of play across the pond. These kids are putting in a lot of time and effort, and we will surely hear of them in the future. Actually, there have already been little birds singing about one of the NuSkool kids in special, and as the chorus for that birdsong there has been the name of a well-established pro team.. Time will tell. Meanwhile, check out the clip below:

What’s up?

What’s up guys? I decided to write something what’s going on with me and cali paintballing.

Four weeks to the first PSP event. We have been practicing a lot, weekend after weekend.. If I’m talking true so I’m getting little bit tired of this but I want to get so much better so I have to keep practicing hard. Actually we are going to Arizona to play AZPPL this weekend, I think we are going to win that tournament.. hopefully. But still we have to practice more if we want to win PSP. And everyone in the team says that we are not even close to that level what we have to be if we want to win the PSP. So we have to grind hard and yeah.
Last weekend we played few points against Ironmen. They are so good and they killed us. By the way it’s pretty cool to get bunkered by Oliver Lang. But yeah, when you practice against Ironmen you will learn so much, you can’t do any mistakes or you are done.

Video from Kasimir’s Team Practise!

Kasimir let us know that Velocity Wrecking Crew has pretty much disbanded, and most of the team players moved to Nicky Cuba’s youth project, the NuSkool University. Last weekend the team had its first real practise session, on Saturday they did mostly drills and such, and on Sunday they got to practise against Aftermath II and SD Mob.

Here’s a video shot over the weekend by R.A.R films:

West Coast Update

Kasimir sent us a few lines on what he’s been up to and what’s ahead. He’s focused on physical training quite much, as his exchange student curriculum has a lot of  sports and gym classes. As a nice addition, he’s picked up tennis again from his earlier years when he used to be quite serious with it. As we heard it, he hasn’t forgotten too much of it and is doing ok on the tennis courts as well as the paintball fields.

San Diego Greetings from Kasimir!

We received a short update from the busy man in SD, enjoy!

On the training front, Kasimir has been starting up with drills and practices with Mikko Huttunen and Eric Roberts, on this weekend he went through three hours of 1-on-1′s and a tough physical exercise session on top of that.. In the So-Cal +25 weather, that’s quite strenuous.. A few “backyard sessions” have also been up when time permits, a pic from one such:

Kasimir to train with VWC

Now that the PSP season is over, Kasimir’s training arrangements have been finalized. During the PSP off-season Kasimir will be training with Velocity Wrecking Crew, a very solid D2 & D3 team from the area. After a few weeks’ breather, VWC will start practicing on weekends. Meaning both days, naturally.  Kasimir will also be doing a lot of drills with Mikko.

We will see if Kasimir is able to play some PSP events during the early part of the season 2010, we are keeping our fingers crossed!

Kasimir Hellman to San Diego!

A long-term project initiated by Mikko Huttunen at the 2008 PSP World Cup comes to a successful end on Aug.24th, when Kasimir takes off towards San Diego on a year-long student exchange program. Kasimir’s host family lives close to the DYE factory and the home field of the Ironmen, and he will certainly have great practise opportunities! The seashore is 30Km away, but we’re sure that Shorty will become quite familiar with the Longboard!

Helsinki Cyclone wishes Kasimir good luck and thanks Mikko for the effort!

Happy Birthday Kassu!

HBD Kassu!!!

Kassu “Päiviö” Hellman, you are now undertaking your last year without responsibility and the weight of the adult world on your shoulders. Enjoy the year! Think about it, in one year we won’t need to smuggle you into bars :) .

Welcome Kimi & Kassu!

Helsinki Cyclone welcomes the beginning of the new generation to our brotherhood! Kim Vainionpää and Kassu “Päiviö” Hellman, the whole team wishes an ardent welcome. Both Kimi and Kassu are former members of Wipe from Vaasa, but have now migrated to Helsinki. They certainly made an occasion of their initiation to the team, as they were both playing aside us grumpy old men at the World Cup event in Orlando. Gear up now, there’ll be good times ahead!
