KEE Action Sports purchases JT Sports

Like VFTD already earlier reported KEE buying up what was left of JT was all but done deal. Obvious question is what will KEE end up doing with JT as KEE already has alot of overlapping products and brands that are as good or better as what JT/VL/Brass Eagle has to offer. As we can only speculate what KEE ended up paying we can only guess what their intentions are.
Full press release from KEE below. Continue reading ‘KEE Action Sports purchases JT Sports’ »

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe, where did all the players go?

With Smart Parts going under and sponsor money for pro teams being tighter than ever we have seen a lot of players move during the last weeks in US.  With first PSP in March I’m sure we will still see some big names move on new teams. Its going to be quite interesting to see what team managed to pick the right players for them and if the teams with alot of new players have enough time to gel together before the first event. We have now Fedorov going to Russian Legion. Tim Montressor, Stephen  Dabilis, Sam Monville and Greg Siewers joining Aftershock witch makes pretty much an completely new lineup for them. Chris Wilson strengthens XSV. Billy Bernacchia, Pat Roberts, Drew Templeton all with Vicious. Chad George with the boys in blue, San Diego Dynasty. Chris De Signor to Arsenal and Dave Bains plays NPPL with Edmonton Impact. For Ironmen we have Nicky Cuba and John Richardson leaving the team so safe to assume some new names joining Ironmen.

More facts from Oliver Lang!

Oliver Lang has proven to be a great source of valuable facts on the off-season rumors that go around. We posted his first insightful video exposé here, and as he stated in that, he actually has moved to France and is actually quite fluent in French language already! It also turns out that I might be quite fluent as well, even though I’ve never even opened a french book.

Chek out the video below and be educated!

Smart Parts’ European functions that were located in GB have been jointly acquired by German distributors MAXS Sports and Paint Xtreme. Rumor report by Oliver Lang!

Propaintball.com posted up a nice bit of information on the off-season transfers overseas. There seems to be a lot going on, and the effects of the chaotic dash for sponsorships is beginning to show.. Since there has been no announcements of any pro teams receiving a Smart Parts sponsorship, I think the story of one of the longest-running companies in paintball is clearly and undisputedly coming to an end. Albeit everyone is entitled to an opinion, the situation has left the former SP sponsored teams in a frantic search – and the larger effects of SP downfall may even have an effect on the leagues as well. Anyway, check out the transfers here!

Below, Ollie Lang shares his very interesting insights on the transfer rumor-mill on a video posted on Youtube – Hold on to your hat, this is hot stuff!

Hope for JT Sports?

Following up on the post about JT Sports’ financial difficulties, there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel after all. According to View From the Deadbox, KEE Action Sports will be announcing news regarding JT Sports. It seems that KEE has agreed to partner up with the troubled manufacturer, and we will later see what the future holds for JT. An interesting point is to see will this hope extend also to the to-be-closed-down Neosho plant and JT ball manufacturing in general. The internet also reports that the official statement will be out next Monday, February 1st 2010.

Tommy Pemberton Retires Due to Injury

Dye Paintball published Tommy Pemberton’s retirement announcement on their site. To many, the message of the 24-year old Nexus powerhouse is a great surprise, as the injury was not something that happened in front of the public eye. Being plagued by constant knee problems throughout the last few seasons, Tommy went in to a double-knee surgery to fix the issues and return problem-free for the season 2010. However, during the surgery, a more serious problem was found from his right knee, and he had no possibility to continue as a profesional paintball player.  Tommy will continue working in the paintball industry at DYE Europe, and will share his knowledge through numerous clinics that will be upcoming.

We are sad to hear the news, and wish Tommy all the best in his future.

In response to the earlier statement from Sup’Air, Craig Miller has his (final) say in the UA vs. Sup’Air issue on thefordreport.
