Why did KEE buy Smart Parts’ patent portfolio?

Propaintball.com has received an email announcing KEE to have purchased the Smat Parts patent portfolio in its entirety. The brief email did not offer much insight to what KEE aims to do with the acquired immaterial property rights, but after the fall of Smart Parts the speculation around the company remains has been vivid to say the least. First off, the entire bankruptcy proceeding was a long-running “solid” rumor and finally materialized after the 2009 World cup.

Interview with Mikko Huttunen – DYE Snow and LA Ironmen

Over the winter we have been reading various rumors and bits of gossip about DYE branching into snow sports, but there hasn’t been too much concrete information. With the PSP season opener in Galveston, Texas showing Mikko Huttunen amiss from the Ironmen back line, we figured that something is really bubbling under. We contacted Mikko and discussed a lot of recent topics.

PSP Galveston Final Video by Monkey With A Gun

The PSP Galveston final game is online! The series of youtube videos produced by Patrick Spohrer and Monkey With a Gun have kept me glued to the screen for a good part of the week. Have to say, that when the lack of a live webcast became clear earlier this year , I was really disappointed. In retrospect, I have to say that this is a much better option than just the live webcast with a few games possibly being onlline later, like it was in 2009.  As the quality of the production has been absolutely fabulous with multiple well thought-out camera positions and Matty Marshall as the main commentator, you can only be thrilled! Enjoy the final with SD Dynasty going against Boston Red Legion!

Have to say that Every one of  the PBFashion / HK army videos has gotten me on a good mood, and this one is no different! Great stuff!

PBX3 Goes Social, SocialPaintball Goes Ballistic

A few hours ago Paintball X3 Magazine announced that they will enter the sexy realm of Social Media as “the first paintball social website that ties a paintball magazine, portal, branded social media and Facebook all together in one simple to use, easy to sign up, package”. Check out the complete announcement here and you’ll notice the whole hooplah to become a bit deflated, as one has grown to expect the social dimension to be quite the norm for media in general. A lot of noise for a site update, basically. The more established social venture, SocialPaintball posted a (semi-serious) rant on the subject of the claims on their blog. One part of the post did scratch on a valid point – why not work together? Well, money naturally, but out of greed or the need to survive?

Goodbye .50 cal, the true revolution is here!

Well, it seems that the paintball 2.0 ”revolution” started by Richmond Italia has not caught on like wildfire, so the folks at Empire have devised Paintball 3.0! See the video sneek peek below!

They are boasting an impressive 8 shots per tank! Can’t wait to see the ballistic graphs on these babies, if the promise is anything as good as Richmond claimed the .50 cal to be, this will be a true revolution! Resistance is futile.
