Millennium 2010 Bitburg is at hand and the anticipation is crushing…
First of all: After the Malaga event got canceled on Saturday, the last games on our group got moved to Bitburg and everything remained open. Now the situation is, that Empire Venice has a firm grip on the preliminary win with their two points. Both we and the Sugar Daddy’s have acquired one point before the last game, so if we both take wins, there will be three teams at two points and it’ll all be decided by the point differences. To go even further, if we should take the win with a landslide, we have a chance to win the preliminaries all together. Talk about pressure…
Secondly: The Bitburg event is about to start. We had a good chance to train the field with the best teams in the Swedish Masters in Uppsala. This gave us a good idea on how to play the field layout, which will certainly be an advantage. All we need is a deck of cards…
Thirdly: If you’ve been following the weather reports you know that the ash from Pinatubo2 is far from gone. Airfields have been closing all around Europe with only a moments’ notice. What happens if “the Rock” is closed again and none of the Brits can participate, or Scandinavia for that matter. At least, Bitburg should be pretty safe since it’s in the middle but we’ll see about that won’t we…
Our team for this event is going to be a mix of old and new. As our Millennium regular Sam Stark is still on the sidelines recovering from knee surgery we’ll see the old dogs Mika Nyberg, Antti Syvänne and Mikko Sipiläinen join the new boys Tomi Lindholm and Kim Vainionpää. To mix it all up we have an Ace up our sleeve from Trivoga called Markku Nevala.
All the pieces are at play, let the games begin… Stay tuned
