As everyone can remember 2009 season didn’t start for Millennium Series that well in Malaga as the whole event was canceled due to strong wind. Having strong wind and stormy weather for this time of year in Fuengirola is quite typical, Now we are here again for 2010 and if weather is tomorrow morning anything like today the event will be an replay from last year. As to what did the organizers do things different for this year. Player areas are now moved to walkway side to prevent pits floating to the sea. Too bad spectators have now no way of following games on the sideline and the sea is still reaching snake side bringin in miscellaneous crap all the way to the field. We can only cross our fingers and hope for the sea to be allot calmer tomorrow.
As Murphys law dictates when something goes wrong it will go down thee worst possible way. By now everyone has proppobly heard about the an volcano errupting on Island. With this size of bang north Europe started to get with the wind such amounts of volcano ashes that major airports started canceling flights and shutting down airports. Teams trough out of Europe are now stuck on airports from UK down to Germany. Latest word is that Nexus among others is stuck in UK and waiting to hear at 6pm what happens with UK flights. Stockholm Joy is eating pretzels in Frankfurt Am-Main with propobly a few beers gone down already. Same goes ofcourse for all refs also that are heading down to Malaga.
As for Helsinki Cyclone its just me as a coach (broken knee) and Pekka-HD thats down here yet. Joel was supposed to be on our flight but he missed somehow the flight completely. Luckily money buys tickets and Joel was supposed to catch up us after a few hours. Too bad latest news are the plane on his connecting flight to Malaga broke down an turned back to somewhere. So hopefully our whole team gets here by tonight.
When things like this go down you cant do much else than just say mkay and open up an beer or two. On the up side weather has cleared now so having a few beers in the sun doesn’t feel bad at all.
As for what will happen with the event we just have to wait and see if teams get here and what MS dose.
Some pictures from location will follow in an moment or two.
