The 2010 PSP Phoenix Open starting today.

First PSP event for 2010 is starting today in Phoenix at Glendale Youth Sports Complex. Both Semi-Pro and Pro teams start their games on Friday with first game being Seattle CDR vs SK Moscow. SK Moscow is our Millennium Series champions for 2009 and they will for sure be one of the strongest teams in Semi-Pro. First match-up in Pro is Boston Red Legion vs VICIOUS witch is gonna be another interesting match-up. Vicious moved up from Semi-Pro to Pro for 2010 and they have to benchmark themselves against 2009 champions Russian Legion.

SK Moscow is rostering for Phoenix their Russian lineup as Pavel Bolshakov, Ivan Demidov, Kirill Khrunov, Anton Kuchigashev, Alexander Osinin, Alexander Smirnov and Pavel Titenkov. To bring more experience to the team SK Moscow has brought in to Phoenix also Dusty Odell and William Odell from X-Factor.

For Boston Red Legion we have the usual suspects in Phoenix: Konstantin Fedorov, Aleksandr Berdnikov, Mikhail Knyazev, Vasiliy Panteleev, Kirill Prikhidni, Sergey Solnyshkov and Denis Golev, David Bains, Matt Blonski and Justin Rabackoff.

For 2010 season we have probably the record amount of player transfers with Philly Americans out for this season. Its going to be interesting to see how teams that brought in allot of new talent have been able to gel together.

Schedules and game results can be found from APPA.

Despite of losing the game against Russian Legion I guess Vicious has now really joined the big boys. 7-3 ain’t bad if you think that RL just won the cup and Vicious has been hopping up divisions for last few years and they still are a bunch of boys with no actual superstars. My prediction is that we will see Vicious at least in the semifinals this year.. maybe in the finals if their heads are up to it. I think Vicious will be the next big thing in PRO-paintball.
