After SD Aftermath joined forces with Infamous the question of whose marker all of them would be shooting was still in the air. With the press release from DYE Precision we now have the answer. Not only did Hinman manage to secure the support of one of the mostly respected companies in paintball for their Semi Pro team but they also managed to sign an multi-year agreement witch most of current pro teams could only dream about. Being an strong local team and Mike Hinman running a successful program with raising new tallent it was more than likely an good move for the future from DYE. More facts from Oliver Lang!
Oliver Lang has proven to be a great source of valuable facts on the off-season rumors that go around. We posted his first insightful video exposé here, and as he stated in that, he actually has moved to France and is actually quite fluent in French language already! It also turns out that I might be quite fluent as well, even though I’ve never even opened a french book.

Philadelphia Americans’ destiny confirmed
ProPaintball.com has received short comments directly from Adam Gardner confirming the fact that the Philadelphia Americans will not be competing as a professional team in 2010. The legendary team of 20 years has always been the factory team for Smart Parts, and with their inability to support the team there is little else to do. With the team ownership being directly tied to the Smart Parts and the Gardners, finding other sponsorship would be difficult and a “loss of face” in a way.
In the same ProPaintball.com news article, Darryl Trent of DLX Technology made a comforting promise that the Americans would return in 2011. I really do hope to see the legendary team return.
The Finnish National League is rolling strong in 2010
The Finnish Paintball Federation (SPBL) has released information on the enrollments for the coming 2010 season. It’s great to see that the Finnish scene is doing well even though we have had a lot of bad news globally. The national league has the championship level and three divisional levels coming up to 41 teams in total, all playing some variant of race to -format this year. What has been great to see is that the level of play in the lower divisions has really improved over the last 2 or 3 years and a clear attitude of professionalism and athleticism is starting to become more and more visible throughout the ranks.
Helsinki Cyclone will have two teams participating in the domestic competition series, one in the championship league and one in the first division. Naturally we have set our goals for highest finishes in both series.
Check out the full teamlist below:

Smart Parts Europe taken over by Maxs Sport and Paint Xtreme
Smart Parts’ European functions that were located in GB have been jointly acquired by German distributors MAXS Sports and Paint Xtreme. The press release was released already Jan 25th, 2010. Even though Smart Parts has not released any information on continuing operations after the announced ”temporary closing” that was supposed to last only for January, the press release has a clear orientation for the future. We will see what will come out of this as we progress further into 2010.

Rumor report by Oliver Lang!
Propaintball.com posted up a nice bit of information on the off-season transfers overseas. There seems to be a lot going on, and the effects of the chaotic dash for sponsorships is beginning to show.. Since there has been no announcements of any pro teams receiving a Smart Parts sponsorship, I think the story of one of the longest-running companies in paintball is clearly and undisputedly coming to an end. Albeit everyone is entitled to an opinion, the situation has left the former SP sponsored teams in a frantic search – and the larger effects of SP downfall may even have an effect on the leagues as well. Anyway, check out the transfers here!
Below, Ollie Lang shares his very interesting insights on the transfer rumor-mill on a video posted on Youtube – Hold on to your hat, this is hot stuff!
