West Coast Update

Kasimir sent us a few lines on what he’s been up to and what’s ahead. He’s focused on physical training quite much, as his exchange student curriculum has a lot of  sports and gym classes. As a nice addition, he’s picked up tennis again from his earlier years when he used to be quite serious with it. As we heard it, he hasn’t forgotten too much of it and is doing ok on the tennis courts as well as the paintball fields.

More Pictures from Antalya!

In the tournament report, we mentioned meeting Marat Dunyashev, a Russian photographer, and we promised some inside-the-net shots as well. We got a huge packet from him (thanks Marat!) and went through the lot. The best photos of the set were added to our gallery and can be found here. We also got some additional pictures from Janne Niinivaara earlier – they were already added to the gallery. Be sure to check them out as well – can be found here.

Clarification on the Previous

It seems news travels fast! Frederic Rodrigues contacted us and kindly offered a few clarifications to our recent post on .50 cal and the Millennium. We discussed information from VFTD that was originally from Frederic, and which I misread / misunderstood. Frederic pointed out that he received his information from Laurent Hamet’s public announcement on Spirit of Paint and that they are not close – they have only barely met a few times and had a few business phone calls. Regarding ProFusion, which we suspected to be Laurent Hamet’s company – we pointed the uncertainty with a (?) – , Frederic also clarified that he does not know the owner of ProFusion, but that officially ProFusion is not Laurent Hamet’s property.

We thank Frederic for the additional information!

.50 Cal on Millennium Fields in 2010?

In View from the Deadbox: 50 Cal Update for Mr. Curious, Baca Loco posts up information that he has received from Frederick Rodrigues – someone close to Laurent Hamet. According to Frederick’s information, the .50 cal “revolution” has been strogly pushed to the French market by Hamet’s (?) distribution company ProFusion and the prices would be 50% cheaper than the .68 current prices. That is starting to seem like a tempting offer already. Hamet had also claimed that the Millennium Series is very likely allowing both .50 cal and .68 caliber balls on the fields for the 2010 season.
