.50 Cal “Promo” video after World Cup

Matteasy7 posted a video on youtube showing Chris Lasoya and Mike Phillips From TechPB testing the new .50 Nano after the PSP World Cup.

There has been discussion on VFTDB about the FPS the gun was running on during the test, and people have claimed that the gun was shooting above 300FPS, in the 315-335 range. Still, all of the test shots were less than the full pitch. Not by outrageous amounts, but still, the extremeties were not reached.

Also, if you look at the size of the marks on Mike, they seem a lot smaller than the .68 as, by physics they should. From a tournament players’ perspective, i’d be much happier receiving those than being the one trying to eliminate me with those specks.. :)

I need further convincing.

Edit,

The guys over at MCB did a nice test of the available paint, that can be seen on Youtube. Be sure to check that out as well.

.50 caliber paintballs – the future?

There has now for some time been alot of buzz going around the new .50 caliber paintballs and markers that where showcased in World Cup. The mantra has been how lower production, shipping and storage costs for .50 caliber paintballs will save the industry thats struglin in US with the economy going as it is. Arguments are there but will just 20-30% lower retail price for paintballs make that much of a difference?

Kasimir to train with VWC

Now that the PSP season is over, Kasimir’s training arrangements have been finalized. During the PSP off-season Kasimir will be training with Velocity Wrecking Crew, a very solid D2 & D3 team from the area. After a few weeks’ breather, VWC will start practicing on weekends. Meaning both days, naturally.  Kasimir will also be doing a lot of drills with Mikko.

We will see if Kasimir is able to play some PSP events during the early part of the season 2010, we are keeping our fingers crossed!

Less than a week to Antalya!

Even though it was snowing this morning, in less than a week the guys will be playing paintball in quite warm weather. According to Intellicast – Antalya Weather Report in Turkey it seems to be around 25 degrees and rising towards the weekend.. Nice.

Know your roots, my young padawan.

In PSP World Cup 2009, two of the original founders of Cyclone, Eero and Ilkka Kaakkola got together with players and friends from the good old glory days to show that they still bleed blue and black after all the years. They got Toni Stegars and Aleksi Peltonen to join up for the tournament and as icing on the cake they had Lalle – a great friend of all Finnish paintballers – from sweden to join and bring a friend as well.

A few changes had to be made to the roster due to D4 restrictions, but that didn’t stop the guys from enjoying themselves, and played up to the 3rd round – not at all bad!

It’s nice to know that the team founders still go strong, we owe them a lot. We will train hard to succeed and make sure they are proud of our accomplishments!

In case you managed to somehow miss the news with new A Monkey With A Gun Production – CK2 DVD then check out the trailer. With those guys behind and front of the camera thisone goes to the must-have list.

Child PLEASE!

After the few problems the PSP Webcast had in starting up, the show was absolutely astonishing, once again. It provided great moments of joy and excitement, but also one of the funniest bits I’ve seen in a while. The D4 race to 4 finals between Flip Syde and PCP VNZ had one point end in an epic moment of confusion, check out this video that was posted to youtube if you missed it:
