Our Malaga Practise tourament was extremely useful, we got 19 points on the field with etremely good opponents, two SPL teams (Instinct and Sigur) and one CPL team (Chilli Peppers). We are satisfied with our games, even though we didn’t make the cut into the finals. A quick summary of the games:
Helsinki Cyclone – Instinct Gemoss Liepaja
We lost two first points but managed to turn the game around to 4-2 by winning four consecutive points. We noticed that our plans seemed to be working pretty well for both tapes and we could push both tapes effectively.
Helsinki Cyclone – Sigur Riga
We received 4 penalties in the first points and let Sigur up 0-3. When we got the penalties under control and played our own game we took two points but fell short to take the game as Sigur pulled the last point, 2-4.
Helsinki Cyclone-Chilli Peppers Riga
A really great learning experience from the CPL guys. We could adapt our plans on the fly and keep the game close, going back to back the first four points to 2-2. The first point we lost again but in the second point Janne and Raffe turned a 4-2 situation around to win the point. third game again to Chilli and the fourth to us by a new plan. After that Chilli stepped up a notch to win the 3-2 point. The following pont was a tight one, ending with a dirty hang and a rematch. Chilli Peppers took the point and match, leaving us out of the finals and very hungry for Malaga.
